Every source lands on the same graph: a filter with resonance, a delay line, a distortion stage and an LFO that the four macro knobs steer together. The morph effect decides how those stages are wired for each pass.

Hyperspace, liquidize, plasmafy, blackhole, quantize, nebulize, fractalize, crystallize, atomize, vaporize, timeshift, tsunami, volcanic, aurora, cosmic and dimension. Each one re-patches the filter, delay, drive and LFO stages into a different shape rather than just changing a mix knob.

Four macros that steer everything

Liquid Density thickens the texture, Morph Speed sets how fast the transformation moves, Chaos Factor decides how much randomness leaks in, and Time Warp bends the delay line. They cut across all sixteen effects, so one gesture changes the whole character.

Alien, Water, Plasma, Void, Cyber, Dream, Chaos, Neural and Astral. Each recalls the full state - morph effect, all four macros, filter frequency and resonance, delay time and feedback, distortion amount, LFO rate and depth - so they are starting points with real detail behind them.

A visualiser tied to the audio

A 2048-point FFT drives a field of fluid particles that thickens with density and scatters with chaos. Freeze it, push energy into it, or open it into space - the picture and the sound come from the same analyser, so what you see is what is actually happening.

Record what you just did

The recorder captures the processed output, not the dry input, and hands you the file when you stop. Useful because most of what happens here is a performance you will never reproduce knob for knob.

Nine presets, then chase it yourself

Load one, then move a macro and watch how far the same effect can travel.

Fluid

WATER

Liquidize at high density and low chaos, filter wide open at 8 kHz and a short delay. Smooth, wide, slow-moving - the friendliest place to start.

Deep

VOID

Blackhole with the filter pulled to 500 Hz and a 1.5-second delay feeding back at 0.7. Sparse, huge and slow - everything sinks into it.

Rhythmic

CYBER

Quantize at 90 % speed with a 16 Hz LFO and a 1/8-note delay. Snaps the source into a grid it never had.

Extreme

CHAOS

Fractalize with every macro at maximum, a 20 Hz LFO and feedback at 0.8. It is not subtle, and it is not meant to be.

Getting started

From a dry file to something unrecognisable

Give it something to chew on

Drop a file, hit the mic button, paste a stream URL or switch on the quantum voices. The engine starts analysing as soon as audio arrives.

Pick a morph

Click a cell in the morph matrix. Liquidize and aurora stay musical, blackhole and timeshift destroy structure, fractalize sits somewhere past that.

Ride the four macros

Density and speed do most of the work. Add chaos only once the shape is right, and use time warp last - it changes the timing of everything downstream.

Record the take

Press record before the interesting part, not after. The output file is the processed signal, ready to drop into a sampler or a DAW.

An effects processor that answers back

Most browser effects are a knob and a wet/dry control. Liquid Morph Engine is closer to a small modular rack: a resonant filter, a delay line, a drive stage and an LFO, wired differently by each of the sixteen morph effects, all steered by four macros that cut across the whole graph. The result is that the same source can come back as a wash, as a grid, or as something with no obvious relationship to what went in.

Built for sound design, useful for performance

Because the macros are continuous and the visualiser is honest, the engine rewards moving things while they play. Sweep density with a delay feeding back, drop the chaos to zero and the texture settles; push time warp and the whole tail smears. The recorder exists precisely because these are gestures, not settings - you catch them or you lose them.

It shares the studio

Liquid hooks into the same shared AudioContext as the rest of GOONS, so the header visualiser and the other apps see its output too. What can I feed into Liquid Morph Engine?

Four things: a local audio file you drop on the page, your microphone, a network stream URL, or the built-in quantum voices if you want to make a sound from nothing. All four land on the same processing graph, so every effect and preset works with any of them.

Does it process audio in real time?

Yes. Everything is a live Web Audio graph - there is no render step and no offline bounce. Move a macro and you hear the change immediately, which is the point: the interesting results come from moving controls while the sound plays.

Can I export what I make?

Press record and the engine captures the processed output through MediaRecorder, then offers the file for download when you stop. It records what comes out of the effects, not the dry input.

What is the difference between the sixteen morph effects?

Each one re-patches the internal chain rather than just changing a mix amount. Liquidize keeps things smooth and wide, quantize snaps the material to a grid, blackhole pulls it into a long dark delay, fractalize multiplies it into chaos. The four macros then behave differently inside each patch.

Do I need a microphone?

Only if you want to use the mic input. File, stream and quantum-voice sources need no permissions at all, and the browser will only ask for microphone access the moment you click the mic button.
